I read again " Words for a Lost Love"
deeply it resonates on this day the 8th March 2008.
You died this day some 4 years ago
It was swift ,no time to say goodbye to
your children
Sudden,no warning,no time to say sorry
Gone not knowing I do not hate
for this is a wasted feeling
I would say Sorry
Sorry you are gone
Sorry the children have lost their Father
Sorry your new loved one did not share
as many memories as I did
Sorry it had to be this way.
You will no longer wonder why
I will always wonder why
Until it is my time to say goodbye
But...this is what life is
Never knowing what comes in the next second,
minute,hour day or night.
It says enjoy the most of every precious day
Hurt not with words actions or deeds
Value humanity and all of life's creatures
For we are all part of the same.
Rest peacefully

Beautiful poem, Fran. Evocative - and it stops just where it should stop (a skill that's hard to learn).

My mum had a land lady when she was studying and mum had to sneak Dad in and out of her room... back in the days when no men were allowed inside. Lovely poem. So evocative and romantic.

Hey, Fran!
Good to hear from you, and thanks for your generous comment on my small offering.

In the meantime, I hear "Loss" . . . a "darkling cave" indeed.

May the light be ever with you.
Bless,
Bill

A lovely poem, Fran. It's beauty in in its simplicity...it tells a story in a few well chosen words.

I don't know what time of day or night I was born. My mother always told me that she didn't remember, but then, she would never talk about us...about family. Never knew her reasoning. I may be a child of night, because there are times when I seek dark spaces, but then there are times when I seek the light, so who knows?
